Prosthetics

Prosthetists work with people of all ages who may have been born without a limb, lost one through an accident or military service, or undergone an amputation due to medical conditions such as diabetes. Working closely with physicians, prosthetists help identify and create the most appropriate prosthetic solution for each patient.

The process begins with precise measurements and an evaluation of the physician’s recommendation for the type of prosthesis needed. A model of the affected area is made to ensure accuracy in design. Beyond technical skills, a key part of a prosthetist’s role is listening to the patient—understanding their goals, lifestyle, and expectations.

When fitting the prosthesis, adjustments are often necessary to achieve both comfort and functionality. This careful fine-tuning helps patients not only adapt physically but also regain confidence and independence in their daily lives.
